Howdy beer drinkers and live music lovers! Our first Loving Spoonful fundraiser of 2015 starts today and we think you’re gonna love it.
We’re teaming up with the folks at the Big Ears Festival’s Little Ears program, an educational component of the annual contemporary music festival. Through the program, local students from The Joy of Music School and The Community School of the Arts are given hands-on music education experiences throughout the festival weekend. Little Ears also provides financial support to each organization via donations from each ticket sold to the Big Ears, and fundraiser partnerships like our pint glass fundraiser.
At both Tomato Head locations, you’ll find these snazzy pint glasses for sale. One side has the Big Ears logo and on the other has Tomato Head’s. 100% of the proceeds from each one sold will be split between each nonprofit.
The glasses retail for $2.95 for one, 2 for $5.50, or 4 for $10. Thank you for helping raise money for Community School of the Arts and Joy of Music School. Order any draft beer and the glasses are only $2.50!
Additionally, “Little Ears Presents: Expressions in Arts Education” will be on view at the Market Square Tomato Head from March 9th through April 5th. The exhibit will then move to 7240 Kingston Pike Tomato Head from April 6th through May 4th.

The See America Project has only made stops in New York, San Francisco, and Bahrain, and this summer, both Tomato Head locations will host the exhibit during June and July.
It’s a crowd-sourced project from Creative Action Network and National Parks Conservation Association inspired by the See America posters from the New Deal era, which have been re-imagined for the 21st Century. Over 600 posters were submitted and a selection of them is currently on display in Market Square until July 6. The exhibit will then move to our location in the Gallery Shopping Center located at 7240 Kingston Pike until August 3. By clicking on the image below, you can read more about the project in the latest issue of Metro Pulse.
Stop by Market Square to learn how you can win this framed poster from Tennessee artist Matt Brass.

Have you set some robot troops in Africa with your remote lately? Well, now’s the time to do it. Scott and Mahasti’s kids have designed the latest Tomato Head T-shirts, and we’re giving them away for free.
Maybe your old Tomato Head T-shirt is looking a little ragged or doesn’t fit as well as it used to. Take a picture of yourself wearing it on vacation, in the garden, with the kids or on Market Square (anywhere works), then post it on our Facebook page or on Twitter. If you post on Twitter make sure to tag us (@thetomatohead) or we won’t be able to see it. We’ll give you one of our new T-shirts for free. It’s as simple as that.

As one of the proud sponsors of the Tennessee Shines Radio Show, we’re thrilled to be a part of the great WDVX tradition of bringing some of the country’s most gifted musicians and storytellers to downtown Knoxville. Previous Tennessee Shines performers have included local favorites like the Tim Lee 3, Lil iFFy, Brent Thompson, and The Lonetones, as well as nationally-renowned and well-traveled acts such as Chuck Prophet, Casey Driessen, Shannon Whitworth, and Malcolm Holcombe.
Our fans on Twitter (@thetomatohead) will want to pay attention every Thursday and Friday at noon when we play some music trivia. The first person each day to answer correctly receives a pair of tickets to the live radio show. One very special winner each week will also receive a $50 Tomato Head gift card, dinner for two at the restaurant prior to the show, freshly baked bread from our new sprout, Flour Head Bakery, plus some cool Tomato Head swag.
You can catch Tennessee Shines every Monday night at 7pm at the Knoxville Visitor Center, located at the corner of Gay Street and Summit Hill Drive.
